Two University of Zakho Professors Have been Awarded Certificates of Appreciation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research

On January 15, 2024, Dr. Aram M. Qader, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, recognized and awarded the most accomplished researchers at universities in the Kurdistan Region. As part of the government's commitment to promoting research and scientific endeavors, the Kurdistan Regional Government granted certificates of appreciation to all researchers in government universities whose names were included among the world's top researchers at Stanford University.

In the opening remarks, Dr. Amir Chali, the Scientific Affairs Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, delivered a welcoming speech. He emphasized the researchers in both government and private universities in the Kurdistan Region, whose names comprised 2% of the world's leading research. This acknowledgment follows several presentations on scientific research in the Kurdistan Region indexed in Scopus.

It is noteworthy that this list is grounded in the scientific and academic accomplishments of individuals, evaluated by Elsevier and Stanford University, utilizing bibliometric data from Elsevier and Scopus. Evaluation criteria encompass the H-index, impact factor, total citations (including self-citations), co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, among others.

 

In this listing, 151 researchers from Iraq were recognized, with 29 affiliated with universities in the Kurdistan Region. Dr. Hazhar F. Ismail and Dr. Karmina K. Ali from the University of Zakho/ College of Science/ Mathematics Department, were acknowledged for their exceptional contributions to education and research.
